Alec is a first-year Metal Fabrication Technology student at Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. He has had a passion for working with his hands since he was young and loved seeing projects through from start to finish. Alec knows that manufacturing and fabricating offers endless personal and professional opportunities, and he is confident that he can achieve greatness through his hard work, dedication, and pride as he enters his trade.
Abby is an Industrial Welding Technology student at Fox Valley Technical College in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Growing up on her family’s dairy farm and watching her family weld, Abby decided to pursue welding in high school and her passion for the trade has only continued to grow. Her love for welding has led her to become very involved with the American Welding Society and her local Fox Valley AWS chapter, and she is committed to creating a career where she can work in the aerospace field and eventually become a certified welding inspector.
Bryn is a teen welder, fabricator, and apprentice. Born and raised in Grand Island, Nebraska, Bryn is eager to graduate from his trade high school in May 2022 and start his career in the welding industry, as well as becoming a certified welding inspector after completing his apprenticeship. He is also the founder and 1/5th of Surgeons of Steel, a group that shares their welding skills and personalities across social media. Bryn is focused on making his mark on the welding industry by putting in the work, learning from his peers as well as the pros, and sharing his passion for welding any chance he gets.
Lillian Anderson is a freshman at Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis, MN. As of 2022, she is working towards a degree in electrical construction to later become an electrician. With a passion for problem-solving and commitment to meaningful positive impact, Lillian hopes to create a career where she can help make renewable energy options more accessible to lower income communities.
Shannon is a 2nd year Electrical Apprentice and Skilled Trades Ambassador. Based in Hamilton, Ontario, she originally completed a Child and Youth work diploma where she found a passion for people, mental health, and learning. Fast forward a decade, Shannon is now in the electrical field with the confidence, independence, skills, and community she had always dreamed of, along with financial freedom to thrive and not just survive - all thanks to the skilled trades.
Elizabeth is one of Chicago’s few women in the field of Skilled General Labor with #LIUNA Local 6. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Elizabeth is a proud supporter of the trades and the #UNIONS that run, support, provide educational advancement, and uphold them! Elizabeth absolutely loves what she does and finds that every day in the construction field is different from the last.
