THIRD GENERATION MACHINIST

Meet Colleen Blair. Colleen, aka @colleenmachines, is a Red Seal Machinist from British Columbia, Canada. Growing up, Colleen learned from and worked alongside her machinist father at his own shop, which is where her love for and interest in the trade began. Now with 6 years of experience in machining, Colleen works at a CNC shop where she makes gears and parts for the oil and gas industry. She truly loves her work, and she credits her supportive family and her online community for their positive impact on her career journey. Colleen continues to share the behind-the-scenes of her work and the various struggles she faces in hopes of introducing the next generation, including girls and women, to both the reality and benefits of a life in the trades.
