Meet Isis Harris. Isis, aka @sparked4life, is a Journeyman Electrician born, raised, and based in Portland, Oregon. She is a major advocate for the trades, a seeker of social and economic justice, and is heavily involved in her local community on all levels. Not only is Isis a tradeswoman who will be completing her apprenticeship program this December 2021, but she is a proud mother to 3 sons and an entrepreneur with her own line of hi-vis apparel called 3v3ryDay Grind. Among other notable accolades, Isis was voted “Woman on the Rise” by the NECA-IBEW Electrical Training Center in 2017 and featured in publications including NPR to discuss her experiences as a trades worker. Isis was previously incarcerated, but she strongly believes and is proof that a person should not be judged solely on mistakes of their past. As a self-proclaimed “Black Unicorn”, Isis has made great strides to become the woman she is today while actively working to improve the various areas of her life, and her commitment to civic engagement, entrepreneurship, and mentorship has never been stronger.
